Another road trip...

Since I last posted we (the family + the Lady) went on a road trip. To Chicago. We went over the long Columbus Day weekend. It was a long boring ride. No billboards except a few that advertised Adult Superstores with All you can eat buffets. YUM. Oh yea, lots of cornfields too as well as this giant cross in Effingham Illinois. If you GOOGLE it you can see pictures of it.

We had a lovely time at Sam's house on Friday night, complete with pizza and a copy cat Outback chopped blue cheese salad, and a few friends to share it with.

Saturday we spent our morning at Ikea eating free breakfast (those potatoes are YUMMY), shopping around, and then we headed to the Brookfield Zoo. The Lady had gone to the zoo when she was E's age and made a wax elephant...guess what? They still have those machines. The kids made an elephant, a lion and a shark. MOLD A RAMA. google that too. They're fun machines. That night we went to Toys R Us and bought some board games to play at the hotel. Pokeno is a family favorite as well as Mexican Train (dominoes)

Sunday was THE party to go to. The Carter Carnival. Everything was amazing, the kids had fun, and we saw lots of friends. It had been a long time since we had seen some of them.

Monday we got up, checked out and got on that long cornfield lined road known as I-57. We stopped in Tuscola IL at a Tanger Outlet where I dropped $100 and left. Got some good deals at Bath and Body Works OUTLET, The Children's Place, and Osh Kosh.

I have to say that it was a long trip, but well worth it to see lots of good friends. We made memories and that's all that matters.
